…but we are here.
All I knew about The Scream: A disturbing painting and yet something that I could maybe relate to if I stared at it long and hard. (Well… we aren’t all born artists so forgive me for knowing so little).
What I didn’t know: Edvard Munch, the man behind or is in the painting had suffered from anxiety, excessive drinking, hallucinations and feelings of persecution. In his own words… “Illness, insanity, and death were the black angels that kept watch over my cradle and accompanied me all my life”. – I didn’t know about THIS nor did I know about THIS.
Awareness of it is now my friend because of the internet… but not after hearing a rough version of it during our meeting at the book club yesterday.
Book club: We are a bunch of people who would be very happy if you could join us, read with us, and share with us, your favorite short stories, novels, articles and poems… anything in hopes of perpetuating those things which engender thought, wonder and awareness.
To join our mailing list, share your ideas with us and be a part of this small but fun group, mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We usually meet every Monday at 6:00p, but we’ll let you know of any changes by mail or on our Facebook page.
